It’s been a rough month. (Have I said that already?) On top of our crazy work schedules, my husband and I each being in a wedding (one was on the opposite part of the country), I am now just getting over a terrible cold that I caught right as we returned from wedding number two. It’s been a rough month. I’m welcoming November with open arms.
That being said- I thought I would end this week with a few of my favorite things! These are makeup and beauty items I’ve been using for the past month, which have quickly turned into favorites.
Yup, I’m jumping on the BB Train! I don’t use foundation- but I totally got pulled into this BB Cream from a sample I received in the October issue of Real Simple magazine. It smells amazing, it evens out my complexion, and leaves a really light dewy feeling on my face- plus all the benefits that a BB Cream provides. I would definitely recommend it. You can find it at any drugstore ranging from $12-$14 depending on where you live.
If you have really fine hair like I do, or you want to spruce up your styling regime, then you know the troubles that come with styling your hair. In fact, I stopped using conditioner because it was making my hair so flat. After I wash my hair, I spray this lemon sage thickening spray by Paul Mitchell, comb it through my wet hair, and then blow it dry. Ever since I started using this thickening spray, my hair has more texture, more body, and holds style so much better when I use hot styling tools. I found this at the Beauty Supply store.
I know, I know, the Urban Decay Naked palettes are so two years ago, but I just got mine earlier this month. I never purchased the original Naked palette because it has mostly shimmery shadows- and I’m not a fan of shimmer. However, the Naked Basics palette is right up my alley with matte shadows that go really well with my skin tone. Plus, its the perfect palette to take in your travel case! Thumbs up Urban Decay! I got this palette from Sephora.
A couple other really great products I got to try for free are from Benefit. If you are a “Beauty Insider” at Sephora you get free trial size products for your birthday and this is what I received this year: the “They’re Real” mascara and “Watt’s Up” highlighter. So far, I really like the highlighter, and it’s a pretty decent size sample! The mascara however, I’m not totally crazy about it. It might be because the wand is so short, being that it’s a sample size, or that the formula doesn’t quite work for me, but I don’t foresee myself purchasing the full size product.
So that’s it for my favorite things this month. What are yours? I’d love to know!
