Welcome Back!
In September 2020 I hit ‘publish’ on my previous blog post, nowhere remotely close to thinking it would be last post so for so long. I closed my laptop, went about my life, and literally two years later, here I am at my computer writing to you again. We’ve all changed...

INTRO TO YOUR IDEAS ABOUT SUSTAINABLE HOMES
Decorating your home doesn’t have to be expensive or stressful. If you have no idea where to begin, start with one area of one room. For example, if it’s a living room, try tackling the area by the TV and slowly expand to other areas once you finished that area.
If you just moved into a new space, don’t expect everything to happen overnight or even over one week. Live in your space for a while before making any drastic changes like demolition or ordering new cabinets.
My advice for you if you are about to redesign your space is first, shop your own home. Then shop second-hand. Then shop small. Then as a last resort look at the big box stores.
Shopping second-hand might take you a little longer to curate your items, but since you will already have the expectation that this isn’t happening overnight, you’re not that surprised, right? Shopping second hand
Items I typically stick to when I shop second-hand:
- Wood furniture
- Vintage natural fiber area rugs
- Unopened bedding/drapes
- Small kitchen appliances
- Books
- Decorative accessories like vases, faux plants, candles etc.
- Lamps
- Plates, bowls, mugs
Remember, you can change your home’s look but you can’t change its location.
