Last week I was really sick which snowballed me into making some important lifestyle changes -more specifically in my diet. Being sick not only caused me to lose my appetite almost completely, on top of that I wasn’t craving those sugary high caloric snacks I usually do at 10AM and 8PM everyday.
Last week, I completely avoided dairy, and I still do- well at least try to. (The usual fatty ones- ice cream, cheese, whip cream etc) It’s not that I won’t have it, it’s that I just don’t really buy it anymore because for me personally, I know it doesn’t serve my heath well. It’s like that awkward relationship with a person you avoid- you don’t seek them out, but if you happen to run into them at a party, you make small talk and be nice- or in ice cream’s case- you indulge a little bit.
While I was sick, I made myself this amazing (and super nutritious) oatmeal and I would like to share it with you this morning.
Ingredients:
1/3 cup of quick oats
1 Tablespoon of ground flax seeds
1 1/2 Tablespoon of hemp seeds
Handful of golden raisins
Dash of cinnamon
Spoon of honey
Add 1/2 cup of milk (I used almond milk) and microwave for 1:15seconds. Stir and enjoy!
This breakfast is so delicious, filling and incredibly healthy. I’m ready to begin another week full force, and I have my amazing oatmeal to get me going.
