One thing I was not expecting while on vacation in California was cool weather. Like a complete rookie, I packed mostly shorts and t-shirts, and didn’t wear either of the bathing suits I brought with me. So imagine my relief when I remembered I had a long sleeve 70s blouse I bought from a Portland boutique while we were in the Monterrey Bay area.
This blouse was actually a complete steal! It was purchased from a small boutique on Mississippi Ave during a once a year street market fair that we just happened to be there for. I was drawn in by a sign that read: “Everything on this rack: $10.” I tried it on and it fit perfectly. As I was paying for it at the counter, the lady said to me: “Good find. This is a Halston” Not having a great background in fashion history, I later found out this was a famous 70s designer, and I now was in possession of a Halston blouse. A Halston blouse that saved me from the cool beach of the West Coast.
