Lately I’ve really been into wearing chambray tops. I have several styles and varieties, but none that really worked with warm weather until I came across this top at a consignment store. It’s sleeveless so it’s perfect for the hot days that are upon us now (not complaining about that!) It has a flirty lace detail on the back that adds texture and interest. I like that it also has a hint of vest-like structure so I could wear a long sleeve shirt under it if I wanted to continue wearing this top through the autumn season.
I paired this chambray top with my classic black maxi skirt. (I drew inspiration for this outfit from this pin.) I really like how the denim material makes the look feel a little more relaxed juxtaposed with the more formal feel of a black maxi. To pull it all together I threw on my favorite black pumps for the finishing touch. The whole outfit feels light and breezy (so comfortable) which is perfect for the even hotter days to come. (You might also remember another chambray and skirt combination from a post last fall.) I picture wearing this outfit for the day at work and then transitioning to the patio of my favorite little local restaurant with my girlfriends on a hot summer evening.
