My younger sister got married last weekend in a small town in the Adirondacks. It was a gorgeous day, with lots of love and happiness to share. They had their reception in a community hall, which is more or less a bingo parlor on the main level, and the town court on the lower level.
I was so honored when she asked me if I would help with the wedding decor. After months of throwing ideas around, staking out the joint, and collaborating with friends, we put together a beautiful reception hall.
We used the tablecloths the caterers provided, but everything else we created. The table runners were burlap, with a lace runner over that. I made candles from Mason jars, and used the extras to hold tea lights. We took a collections of Christmas lights, and wrapped them around the post and borders of each door frame. All in all, it the transformation was amazing. Below are the before and after photos.
Oh. Wait. You mean the bride and groom?
Bonus: The flower girl and I acting like dainty princesses.
