Last weekend we hosted a make-your-own ginger bread house party. It was so much fun!! I purchased ginger bread cookie mix from our local grocery store, and some ginger bread house cookie cutters from Amazon. I rolled out the dough, cut the frames of each house, baked them and asked the guests to bring their favorite Christmas candy to decorate. When our friends arrived, we had each of team of two pick a type of building from a hat (pet store, school, police station etc.) and build that particular ginger bread building for the ginger bread town.
^ This one we called “Earthquake zone”
The trickiest part was assembling the main frame of the house. If you decide to make one of your own I would definitely do it with a partner. We had such a great (and tasty) time that we decided to make it an annual tradition!
What are some of your holiday traditions?
