Lately I have really been needing some inspiration. It’s not that I don’t have a pile of projects to complete, its that I completely lack motivation to finish them. (You’ve never felt like that right?) This week has felt totally unproductive, despite how incredibly busy I have been. When I lack motivation and inspiration, one of the activities I like to do is create what I call an inspiration board; some people also call them vision boards. It is simply a board- which can be cork or card stock, whatever material works best for you, and a collection of photos, prints, and/or words that will inspire you. It is incredibly simple, but so meaningful. The inspiration board you see above is one that I created about four months ago when I was lacking inspiration at my job. You might recognize it from when I posted it on my instagram. The supplies I typically use are a cork board, scissors, a stapler, decor catalogs and fashion magazines.
It’s that simple.
Below is one of my favorite inspiration boards that I’ve made. I like it so much that I turned it into a necklace holder using thumb tacks as the hooks, and I painted the frame white to match the rest of the decor in the bedroom. It is hanging right above my vanity.
I hope this post has inspired you! What do you do to inspire yourself?
