Ahhh summer: ice cream, sundresses, flip flops and tan skin are just a few things that make me melt. I don’t know about you, but for me, this season is flying by. I try so hard to enjoy each day of summer but it’s been so difficult for me this year. Between working on the house, and working with clients it’s tough to take time to enjoy the nice weather. (How is it August already??) Luckily, Brandon and I were able to take a vacation to Virginia Beach last month, so that was a nice break.
Lately, I find myself gravitating toward the sundress corner of my closet. This particular orange sherbet color sundress has been my go-to lately. My younger sister gave it to me for my birthday years ago however I’ve only recently started wearing it. (It’s from Forever 21). I really like it because this dress is something I wouldn’t necessarily purchase for myself. The color is so atypical of what I’m usually drawn to. (I could probably count on one hand the number of orange clothing pieces I own!) For an extra pop of color for this look, I added a teal belt around my waist.
In the midst of the craziness, one thing that takes me out of work mode back into summer mode is a sweet frozen treat. From time to time, Brandon and I will make our way to the local drive in and order an ice cream cone- well Dole Soft Serve actually. (I like how they always post their flavor of the day!) For some reason, holding an “ice cream cone” in a loose-flowing orange sundress makes me feel extra summery.
