My Most Used Products During Quarantine

May 19, 2020AT HOME

I don’t know about you, but after nearly 2 months in quarantine, I’ve been using wayyyyy less personal care products and more cleaning products. When New York State shut down back in March, Brandon was able to find a few of the CDC recommended surface cleaning products that they list as killing the Covid-19 virus. In the past, I’ve really loved using an essential oil blend of cleaning, but none of those were on the recommended list. (Plus I’m all out of my natural cleaner anyway!)

I’m always interested in what other people use in their house, so I thought I would share with you what I’ve been using lately at home.

Microban 24 Hour surface cleaner:

This is something I had never used until Covid-19 and I have to say, so far so good. I mainly use in on my kitchen counter, bathroom counters, and on the floor. It advertises that it keeps killing 99.9% of bacteria for up to 24 hours after cleaning. Not sure how dependable that is, but so far I like it better than other surface cleaners. Plus, the scent is not as offensive as Lysol.

Mrs. Meyers foaming hand soap

My sister Elizabeth purchased this for me over a year ago after I used the soap in her bathroom. It. smells. so good. I also like how it comes out as a foam, instead of a straight gel like a lot of Mrs. Meyers other soaps. When I ran out, I bought a refill container and have been using that ever since.

If you can’t find the foaming soap locally, I recommend buying a foaming soap dispenser, and Mrs. Meyers refill soap and mixing 50/50 soap and water.

Gold Bond lotion, Fragrance Free

Since I’ve been washing my hands a ton more, they have been dryer than usual. I keep a container of soap in each bathroom so when I wash my hands, I can immediately put lotion on.

Dry Shampoo

I’m going to be real with you here and tell you I haven’t been washing my hair or showering as much as pre-quarantine. (Let’s be honest, who is??) Dry shampoo has been my best friend these days. I like this charcoal one by HASK, (purchased at Target) If I need a little extra body and shine, I add the Beach Wave Spray by Kristin Ess.

If you want some other dry shampoo suggestions, I tested out bunch of them and gave my reviews in this post.

Clorox Hydrogen Peroxide Disinfectant Wipes

Brandon ordered a case of these wipes to use at work, since his company is still in production. He saved me a container which I keep in my car to use. They are great for wiping down shopping carts, and I use them after I get back into my car from inside the store.

Bonus: Dr. Bronner’s Hemp Lavender Soap for Rosie

I can’t forget about my favorite product for Rosie lately!! I’ve tried a bunch of doggie soaps, but I like Dr. Bronner’s the best. It doesn’t have anything synthetic in it, and the natural lavender scent is smells so nice. Plus, Rosie likes it and it makes her feel and smell so fresh and so clean, clean!

What have you been grabbing on a daily basis during quarantine??
