When the perfect sweater finds you.
I hit the jackpot when I found this sweater at the end of the winter season last year. It’s no secret that I really enjoy shopping at consignment and thrift stores. I like the thrill of skimming through items of clothing that were once someone else’s favorite (or not so favorite, hence the reason they are at a thrift store). It’s like a mini treasure hunt for me. At the same time, I don’t mind splurging on a well constructed good quality staple. (Like this handbag or blazer for example).
As I was skimming over a rack at my local Plato’s Closet, this sweater jumped out at me. I tried it on and knew we were meant to be. It’s 49% wool/51% acrylic and 100% comfortable. I have to be careful when I buy sweaters because I’m fully aware that the wrong cut or fit can look frumpy on me. Not this sweater. From the front it looks simple and polished. The back has heavy metal buttons and brown suede elbow patches. It’s got that whole ‘business in the front party in the back” vibe. I love it!
This sweater is perfect for the chilly days that are ahead of us. It can be worn on its own for a more casual feel, or layered with a button up shirt underneath for a more professional look. Either way, now that the temperature is lowering, you’ll be seeing me wearing this all the time.
