Metallic detailing and statement pieces is huge for Fall fashion. My eyes are drawn to the studded collars and metallic details on shoes that seem to be everywhere! I can’t wait to get my hands on a pair of metallic embellished pumps.
Since metallics seem to be the trend, I figured now would be best opportunity to update some of the pieces in my closet that are too plain. This way, I’m not spending a ton of money on something that might be out of style next Fall, but rather using what I already have.
I decided to purchase some metallic buttons to replace the plain ones on a blazer that I have. This is a great way to incorporate a trend subtly without going too bold with full on metallic.
Here are the supplies I used:
A blazer, needle, thread (the same color as blazer), scissors, and buttons.
First I cut off the buttons that were already sewn on the blazer and set them aside.
When the buttons are removed you can vaguely see small holes where the thread was. I used those holes as a guide of where to place the new button. I carefully sewed on each new button, making sure they all lined up straight on their designated spot.
Perfect for Fall!
You could easily do this with so many other types of buttons and blazers. Plus it doesn’t even take that much time!
Happy crafting!
