What’s In My Makeup Bag?

Mar 21, 2019Archives, STYLE

I like to think of myself as a makeup minimalist. Sure, every once in a while, I’ll sit down and go all out on my makeup if it’s a special occasion. I love watching makeup videos on YouTube, but in no means am I a beauty guru. Most of the makeup I wear on an everyday basis can fit inside a small carrying case. What I carry in this case includes 90% of all my cosmetics. In fact, many of these products were in my years worth of empties video I posted several weeks ago.

What you see below is pretty much everything I own when it comes to makeup. In my closet, I have another area for less used items like false lashes, extra blush or mascara, 2 eyelash palettes, lipsticks, and a few extra brushes. But that’s it!

Below is  the full list of products I use on my face in the order they are applied:

Primer: Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Primer (Silicone free, which is why I use it!)

Moisturizer: NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 30 (I’m in the shade Alaska 2)

Concealer: Tarte Shape Tape Contour/Concealer (I use the shade Light Neutral)

Foundation: Hourglass Vanish Seamless Foundation Stick (I apply this sparingly on certain areas on my face and blend with a beauty sponge. My shade is Bisque)

Brows: Physician’s Formula Brow Last Brow Gel (The best drugstore brow product hands down!)

Sometimes if I’m in a hurry I use e.l.f Instant Lift Brow Pencil. For $2 you can’t beat it!!

Lashes: A combination of 2 or 3 of the following:

L’Oreal Paris Telescopic Mascara

L’Oreal Paris Voluminous X Fiber Mascara (This one is my favorite- has a primer on one end and fiber lash on the other end)

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Plumping Mascara

Covergirl Peacock Flare Mascara

Buxom Lash Mascara (It’s pricey for mascara! I did not purchase this, it was a gift, but I would repurchase it.)

Blush: MAC Mineralized Skin Finish (Discontinued shade- I’ve had this since 2011!)

or L’Oreal Paris True Match Blush in Rosy Outlook

or MAC Cream Blush in Hush.

Highlighter: Marc Jacobs Glow Stick Glistening Illuminator.  (I use highlight probably 50% of the time. This highligher was a gift from my friend- it’s pricey, and I’d never spend the money on it myself, but it’s amazing)

Random Items: I keep a set of tweezers, MAC travel brushes, and a hairbrush with a mirror.

For Lips I use good ol Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in either Red Dahila or Pink Blossom. These are typically in my coat pocket, car or purse somewhere scattered about.

I don’t use: eyeliner, eye shadow, contour, or powder.

That’s it! Do you use/own about the same amount of makeup? More? Less? What do you use on your face that I’m not using currently that you recommend?? I need details! Leave them in the comments.
