My cousin recently got married in Rhode Island so my younger sister, her husband, Brandon and I drove together for the event. We such a lovely weekend. It was a beautiful outdoor spring ceremony on a crisp April evening near the water at a country club. Of course, I used this wedding as an opportunity to look for new dress, particularly a little black dress. I had been searching for one passively until a few days before the wedding I was at my favorite local thrift shop (where I found these amazing jeans) and this sassy lil thang was hanging on a rack outside the fitting room. I was immediately attracted to it because of the metallic detail at the top, so I snatched it up to try on. It fits in a wispy, flowy almost boxy manner, but with the right belt around my waist, this dress was transformed. I absolutely love the way it looks but more importantly I was wild about the price. $8! You really can’t beat that. I paired the dress with set of vintage clip-on earrings that were my grandmothers (on my father’s side) a homemade bobby pin, a white metallic clutch, and these cute black shoes I can’t seem to get away from these days- also seen here.
What is the best bargain you ever got at a thrift shop?
